The Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) hereby informs members of the public and its stakeholders that Mr. Oabona S. Ramotshwara has been appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer, with effect from 01 July 2026.
Mr. Ramotshwara's appointment was approved by the BMC Board of Commissioners following the conclusion of the acting tenure of Ms. Mmabasotho Tibe, who has now reverted to her substantive position as Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Ramotshwara brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience in the food production industry, with extensive expertise in operations, sales, distribution, and strategic management. Throughout his career at BMC, he has held several senior leadership positions, including Chief Technical Advisor, Plant/Abattoir Manager, and Sales and Marketing Manager. In these roles, he has made significant contributions to strengthening operational performance, expanding export markets and advancing the Commission's strategic objectives. Prior to joining the Botswana Meat Commission, Mr. Ramotshwara gained extensive leadership experience in distribution and supply chain management. At Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL), he served as Distribution Manager and Depot Manager Bokomo Botswana.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Botswana and has further strengthened his leadership capabilities through professional development in Industrial Relations, Customer Service, LEAN Principles, Investment in Excellence, and Labour Law. He is also currently undertaking an Executive Development Programme with Stellenbosch University. These programmes have enhanced his expertise in operational excellence, workforce management, and regulatory compliance.
The Board also extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Tibe for her dedication and leadership during her tenure as Acting Chief Executive Officer and looks forward to her continued contribution in her substantive role as Chief Financial Officer.
